Los Alamos, NM —October 9, 2018 — Join us Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 5:30pm for the kick-off of 'Member Moments' at projectY cowork Los Alamos. Each month, project cowork will highlight one ofits members and his or her current venture. This month, Los Alamos newcomer and project cowork member, Megan Levad will host a poetry reading.

Levad is the author of What Have I to Say to You and Why We Live in the Dark Ages. A recent MacDowell Fellow, her poems and essays have appeared in the Academy of American Poets' Poem-a-DayTin HouseBoston Review, GrantaFence, the Everyman's Library anthology Killer Verse, and London art and fashion magazine AnOther, among other publications.

Levad is also a lyricist and librettist. She has written several song cycles and choral pieces, including "Let Us Plant Our Gardens Now,"

with composer Dominick DiOrio, and "Volta," with Kristin Kuster. Kuster and Levad premiered their first opera, Kept, in May 2017 with the Virginia Arts Festival.

Levad received her BA in English from The University of Iowa, and then did her graduate work in poetry at the University of Michigan, where she won the Hopwood Program’s Roethke Prize and was selected by Mary Ruefle for a Zell Postgraduate Fellowship. Born and raised in rural Iowa, she lived in California before travelling to New Mexico.

Member Moments occurs at projectY cowork the second Wednesday of each month. This event is FREE and open to the public. Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
