ScienceFest Discovery Day

About Impact Training:

This year, ScienceFest will also be offering a free Impact Training seminar taking place at projectY cowork Los Alamos (150 Central Park Square) leading up to Discovery Day.

The Details:

  • Geared toward subject matter experts in any STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) field who would like to develop their skills in speaking and working with the public.
  • Participants will learn how to engage with the public to increase their impact with audiences in a variety of settings from schools, to other outreach events.
  • The program is based on the Portal to the Public curriculum developed through the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, and is used by more than 60 institutions nationwide. This particular seminar is taught by local instructors from Mathamuseum.
  • The seminar is limited to 10 participants, who will receive free registration, tent, booth, table and chairs at ScienceFest, in exchange for their time spent in the Impact Training.

About Los Alamos ScienceFest:

Los Alamos ScienceFest celebrates the history and science of Los Alamos through engaging activities and events for people of all ages. This signature event of Los Alamos is well attended and draws visitors from across the state of New Mexico and beyond. The 2018 ScienceFest takes place Wednesday, July 11 through Sunday, July 15.
