Rotary Club of Los Alamos, a recipient of the LACF coworking subsidy, meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 5:30pm at projectY cowork Los Alamos.
Los Alamos, NM —June 26, 2018 — projectY cowork Los Alamos, a collaborative workspace and entrepreneurial hub, is once again partnering with the Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) to offer local nonprofits a subsidy to the coworking space. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits who are registered with LACF and conducting business in Los Alamos County are encouraged to apply via a rolling application basis beginning July 1, 2018. Six subsidies will be available to organizations this fiscal year.
"The Los Alamos Community Foundation is happy to partner with projectY on this subsidy program to provide nonprofits in our community with access to the resources they need to carry out their missions," says Rachel Kizielewicz, who became the LACF Executive Director in February of this year.
The annual program provides funding to help cover the cost of a Groves membership plan. This allows members access to projectY five days a month, as well as two hours of conference room use. For each nonprofit awardee, LACF covers $30 per month, for a total six-month subsidy of $180. The nonprofit pays $15 per month, for a $90 upfront commitment. At the end of the six-month period, the respective nonprofit can renew their membership with projectY cowork at the full monthly rate, or move to using the space on an as-needed basis.
“projectY cowork was an ideal space for staff trainings and meetings,” said Linda Daly, CEO of The Family YMCA, which received a subsidy in 2017. “We held a large staff training using the event space, with over 60 attending. And we’ve held a small new Board member orientation in the conference room, with six attending. Both fit our needs perfectly! The subsidy program by the Los Alamos Community Foundation was a great, low-cost way for organizations to try out projectY and decide whether it meets their needs in the long term.”
If a local nonprofit is not currently registered with LACF, they may register for free online at www.LosAlamosCF.org. Organizations may apply for this subsidy once per year, and if approved, may use the subsidy once every five years.
